Tzippori is one of the oldest known Jewish settlements, full of important and unique archaeological finds, history, and culture. While not heavily populated today, it is still an important Jewish town, and a part of the modern day state of Israel. It is disgusting to see it politicized like this, providing nearly nothing about the town other than that it was taken during the War of Independence. I intend to add what I can, to make this a more NPOV and encylopedia-worthy article, but I am no historian of Israel; I invite others to contribute what they can, and I hope there are not too many more articles like this one out there.

I have now created a larger, less biased, and more historically & culturally relevant article over at Tzippori. Whether or not this article needs to be deleted or merged, I'm not 100% possible. But it really doesn't seem encyclopedic to me. It reads like anti-Israeli propaganda, I think. Well, I'm putting more tags on it, and hoping someone comes across it and does something. Propose to merge with Sepphoris/Tzipori entry[edit]

Saffuriya, Sepphoris, Tzipori, etc., are all names for the same place and all inquiries for those different names should lead to the same page. Tiamut 00:55, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Different names for the same place should absolutely lead to the same article. But I really must say that I do not like the table on this page. Some of that information could be useful to the article, in paragraph form, but the template box seems incredibly POV to me, focusing on Israeli attack/invasion. Comment I agree that the table format is unnecessary (and it's actually lifted from the site www.palestineremembered.com). A narrative section on the events of 1948 as they relate specifically to Saffuriya/Tzippori would definitely be beneficial and I can draft something in the days to come. Support (with POV caveat). Since this article seems to consist only of the table, I support moving it to the much more complete article at Tzippori. I stumbled across this page from an article about a poet who was born in the town in the 30s. I just copied this article's See also to the Tzippori page--the table does have some interesting information (lifted from the Palestine Remembered site, it seems) about the size of the Arab village before its depopulation. In any case, the Tzippori article is obviously very focused on ancient history--it would be good to review the last +/- 100 years of the town's history in some more detail.
