map and contents don't match[edit]

If Saaxil and Woqooyi Galbeed are separated and listed in alphabetical order, this breaks correspondence with the numbered regions of the map. I have moved Saaxil to 18th in the list, next to Woqooyi Galbeed. Perhaps the map should be updated to reflect the changed list? (unsigned)

I reverted back to when the map and content matched. I'll do a diff any put back what seems worth keeping. 4.250.138.184 18:36, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

About Saaxil[edit]

Saaxil was created by "Somaliland" in recently, dividing Waqooyi Galbeed in order to create that region. Saaxil was not one of the official 18 regions when the Somali civil war erupted, so therefore can't be added as "regions of Somalia." If we add that means the other identity known as "Puntland" which also had created new regions that fall under their authority, regions such as "Cayn" and "Haylaan." It is the best to leave the 18 official ones, I believe. Soomaali Nov., 15, 2005

Consistency of regions across Solami articles[edit]

We could do with getting the "number of regions" stories straight at Somalia#Administrative divisions (lists 18, notes there are now 27, Districts of Somalia (lists 19) and Regions of Somalia (lists 27). I appreciate the changes since circa 1990, but we should be capable of discussion the history of region changes. Currently, at best, Districts of Somalia serves to confuse. --Tagishsimon (talk) 01:41, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Puntland–Somaliland border dispute[edit]

So, where does the federal govt come down on the border dispute? Or have they not addressed it? — kwami (talk) 23:03, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They mainly play a mediating/brokering role, recommending dialogue between both regions. Middayexpress (talk) 23:16, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who is says there is border disputes? There is border between Somaliland and Somalia, nothing else, international treaties set this border, in the meantime there are lot of untrue of information on this website. Number one, Wikipedia would want to get accurate information on the background, there was two countries that merged 31 Jan 1961 Law No, 5, the two countries formed a Government named Somali Republic from 1960 yo 1969, this government and its legitimacy was removed and dictatorship raised the name of Somalia, which has no legal personality. Unitary government of the Somali Republic collapsed in 1991 and disappeared permanently with no hope to recover. Somali Republic dissolved then in 1991 and Somaliland and Somalia, the two countries dismembered into their original status in 1991. Somaliland is existing Government while Somalia failed since 1991 to present and become biggest UN project in the world. We want Wikipedia to display two Maps of the two countries from 1991 to present date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.189.228.140 (talk) 18:07, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

yo somalilands a federal member state?[edit]

Somaliland's a federal member state as the collective adminstrative regions have politicians in both Barlamanka and the Senate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamveryshy22 (talkcontribs) 18:07, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
