Am I allowed to mention that Gabor's expertise in the study of "clean surfaces"--surfaces in near-total vacuum, from which all the adhering gas and vapor have been removed--together with his near-totally bald head, earned him the affectionate nickname "Mr. Clean-Surface"? I guess that would be original research, but it is true. SingingZombie (talk) 03:50, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I havent quite figgered out how to upload images, but I'm pretty sure the one here is in public domain:

"Swedish"???[edit]

An editor calling himself "5thDivision" (the username is still red) has stated, in the first sentence, that Professor Somorjai is "Swedish". I suppose it's just barely possible that Gabor may have Swedish citizenship as he seems to have escaped the Holocaust by acquiring a Swedish passport before moving to USA, but this hypothesis (that he's a citizen of Sweden) is a very long-shot, not sourced, and certainly not important enough to place in the initial sentence. Gabor was born in Hungary, and has an Hungarian accent stronger than Bela Lugosi's, and has been in USA for more than six decades! So, much as I hate to not assume good faith, it seems overwhelmingly likely that calling him "Swedish" is vandalism. So I'm taking it out. If I'm wrong, by all means correct me and document, with a reliable source, that Gabor is in any sense Swedish.
