Article Request[edit]

Not exactly related to this article specifically, but could somebody do an article on Mighty Endowed from YJ #1? I would, but I haven't read the actual issue, so I'm not exactly qualified.

A one issue character who is basically just a 'Look, boobs' joke? I don't think she's ahem, big enough for an article. Lots42 03:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:LilLobo01.jpg[edit]

Image:LilLobo01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Life After Young Justice[edit]

The section has been improved a little, but I still question whether it should be included in the article. It isn't about either the team (as they've disbanded) or the series, and it seems redundant with (and more appropriate for) the character's respective articles. And like with Justice League International, it's started to overtake the article. I'd really like to hear other people's opinions about why the section should or shouldn't be included. The Series ended and this is a where are they now section. It doesn't apply for other teams because they have continued in some way, but Young Justice ended and was absorbed in another series. Its now neutral including the good and the bad, so there is little issue with it. There is issue with it: that the information is more appropriate for the character's respective articles, as these events neither happened in YJ's series or to YJ as a team. BlankHole 00:25, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Artemis actually being Tigress[edit]

I've reverted out twice the inference that Artemis is actually Tigress

"Artemis: Voiced by Stephanie Lemelin. This 16-year old heroine is neither Arrowette, nor Wonder Girl nor Speedy, not an Amazon and she’s not from Apokolips. But she is an existing character in the DCU! The panel refused to reveal who, however. Weisman thought her identity should be “fairly obvious,” though."1

This vagueness as to the in-comic identification of Artemis (also reinforced by an equal level of vagueness in the cited YouTube video) means that they are likely keeping it vague for a reason, and it isn't our place to try an Sherlock it out. As Wikipedia editors, we are not allowed to connect the dots; we cite those reliable sources who do that. When we have explicit citation connecting her to someone specific within the DCU, we can do so as well. Not before. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 03:52, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you watch the show? Because in the last episode "Downtime" it confirmed her identity as Artemis Crock (see Tigress (DC Comics)#Artemis Crock). That's why in my last edit I provided the episode as a source. I should have added the episode reference to begin with, but now that's it's there please don't remove it again. I'm not about to post a Youtube link to copyrighted material, but if you can try to find somewhere where you can watch the episode so you can see for yourself.-5- (talk) 14:24, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, don't be snippy; I'm not interested in trading barbs with you, as it serves no purpose other than to piss one or both of us off. Of course I watch the show; why else would I contribute to the article? I'm one episode behind you. That said, I must have missed the end credits wherein they identify her as Artemis Crock; if they've done this from the beginning, then mea culpa. In either case, because - from your earlier citations - her identity within the DCU was in question, you need an explicit source. I do not think that a screencap will cover it; you are correct that a link to Youtube won't do it. maybe seek out the needed reference from the official website?.

As well, the character of Aqualad is not not new, but the use of a new person in the role is. We need to note that; the way it was written, it proposed that the character of Aqualad is new. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 15:28, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

She's identified as Artemis Crock, and there's only one Artemis Crock that ever existed in DC Comics. I don't want to get snippy, but it would be like if a character was identified as Batman and we were wondering which Batman from DC Comics said character could possibly be. Every reference can't have a link for someone to click on. Sometimes books and articles are referenced that don't exist online. In this case it's an episode that is referenced that the user will just need to track down or find some way to watch.-5- (talk) 15:35, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In every episode I've seen thus far (and remember, I'm one ep behind you), she's only been introduced or identified as 'Artemis', not by her surname. As you well know, she is not the only person to use the name of the goddess (and using the names of gods and goddesses is not an unusual occurrence in comics), not just different people using the same 'codename', like we have for Aqualad. There is only one character named Batman, though (though different people have worn the cowl).
And lastly, to be included in the Wiki, it sure as heck does need a reference, 5 - without exception. If you have a book hat doesn't exist online, we have a citation template for that. Be sure, though, that someone will likely check it, and the fallout is harsh if the citations don't match the book's content (and in no way am I suggesting that you'd add a reference that doesn't match the source). We use eps (primary sources) as an utterly last resort, preferring the observations of others (secondary sources - secondary sources tending to be far more durable in the face of dissenting opinion. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:43, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've added an actual link from Greg Weisman's website that lists the credits for the episode. If that's not good enough, I don't know what else to tell you. Camping trip WP:OR[edit]

In the section about the recently late tie-in comic, there’s a claim that a camping trip was in homage to a similar campout in the original comics. I don’t doubt this, but is there a source to back it up? Because otherwise, it’s original research.
