I am a some-time university teacher and political activist/greeny type from Wellington, New Zealand. I have recently joined Wikipedia and am still getting the hang of how it works, so as yet haven't contributed anything. I am currently planning contributions on the Green Party of Aotearoa/New Zealand and animal rights.

Welcome to the 'pedia! What's going on with Australia and New Zealand? You must be the 5th Kiwi I welcomed aboard in the last two weeks (only can remember 1 Brit I welcomed during that time and about the same number of Americans as Kiwis). I forgot to let the others now about listing their names on the Wikipedians/New Zealand page. Oh well, at least I remembered to tell you. Hope you like the place and decide to stay.
