Untitled[edit]

I'd like to nominate the Pitts, Grenvilles and Stanhopes as one of the most complicated families to handle. There are several marriages, and within the family tree are no less than four Prime Ministers (as well as one leading minister from the pre Walpole era). As a result several people have to appear in more than one place.

And there are far too many reuses of the same names (especially Thomas Pitt) to keep things simple.

Asquiths/ Bonham Carters[edit]

A noteworthy family missing from the list. Asquith, his daughter Violet Bonham-Carter (Life Peer) her son Mark (MP and later Life Peer) and I believe her niece Jane is now also a Life Peer. Also married into the Grimonds.

Pelhams[edit]

Henry Pelham-Clinton, 5th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne was also a cabinet minister but i don't know what relation he was to the first DukeA Geek Tragedy 19:29, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone agree that we should write a short introduction - maybe only a few lines - of introduction to this article, explaining that it is a list of families from which several generations of office holders have been drawn? Sawfords[edit]

Following the election of Andy Sawford as MP for Corby & East Northamptonshire at the recent by-election, his family should be added to the list in the main article as his father, Phil Sawford, was MP for nearby Kettering from 1997 to 2005. Zippy2112 (talk) 15:51, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
