Notability[edit]

This article (along with other the articles in its series) does not strike me as being particularly noteworthy. I have already proposed Fifth grade for deletion, and will most likely propose this one for deletion as well should the deletion of fifth grade go through. I am a little shocked that it says they are taught the word oriental in the second grade. I am a second grade teacher and my children are half japanese and I hope that teachers are not using this word in their curriculum. It should be changed to Asain. age[edit]

Hello everybody, for those who has repeated the first grade, they start the second grade at 8 years old. Fête Phung (talk) 19:01, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Year Two[edit]

Much of the content about the specific countries is already covered in the second grade article. There is no reason why they should be separate, even if they have a separate name. "Year 2" is mentioned in the second grade article and that is a more complete article. For not all the countries in the second grade article are called "second grade" either. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 04:47, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It would be inappropriate to merge this article with Year Two because the numbers do not correspond in the main usages. Would it not be better to redirect to general articles about educational grades and years where a less confusing comparison can be made? Separate articles for each school year seem unnecessary. Support the merger as stated, with the opening paragraph, content, and refs of Year Two carefully carefully integrated in full. Prburley (talk) 14:25, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
But why merge with that year which doesn't correspond? Dbfirs 16:03, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Don't merge - The usage of this term appears to be localised, and the ages (and the terminology) do not correlate with other countries around the world. The fact that this page mainly consists of "equivalents" seems supports this. The article also appears to be missing the age range for the USA. Cpl Syx [talk] 08:44, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
