Untitled[edit]

  • This needs less POV adjectives describing the album. And some talk of notability. It's not enough to simply have a track listing. - Lifefeed 20:54, Nov 11, 2004 (UTC)
    • I've tried to clean up the page a little. It's quite fresh, and - as I see it - it doesn't need more work on the POV part; everyone agrees that this album is one of the best live albums Iron Maiden has ever released. Toreau 22:58, Nov 11, 2004 (UTC)
      • Nevermind, I didn't know about the WikiAlbum project. I guess it now is just enough to have a track listing. Uh... good job! - Lifefeed 00:03, Nov 12, 2004 (UTC)
        • It's not enough, but it's always a beginning. :) Next step is to include the infobox containing detailed information about the album; cover picture, producer info etc. Toreau 08:18, Nov 12, 2004 (UTC)
          • I've added the album box now, together with the information from the "Iron Maiden FAQ" (which I currently am the maintainer of), and that information is quite accurate. Can't say that I'm quite done yet, so expect a few (minor) additions/corrections in the near future. I'm from Norway, so please check my written English in the article. --Toreau 18:19, Nov 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • I think the section about the 'sound quality' being better on Rock In Rio should be removed - I think the overall production and musicianship on Live After Death is far superior - also, there is no reference for that particular section, so it also seem like conjecture. perfectblue 08:54, Feb 04, 2007 (GMT)

Beaches[edit]

The album begins with one of Winston Churchill's speeches, as noted in the article. Is it actually a recording of Churchill's voice, or of an actor hired to record the words for the purposes of the tour? -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 20:32, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you're still wondering 5 years later after asking, the band used the re-recorded speech said by Churchill. No actor was used. Ug5151 (talk) 16:56, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Watered Down Release[edit]

I remember buying the single CD version in the 1990's and being PISSED that 25% of it was missing. I was pissed for 2 reasons:

1 - It wasn't the entire classic album that everyone already knew (so I felt it was like false advertising) 2 - It had been lauded for a full decade as one of the best live heavy metal albums EVER. Why chop it up?

It was like releasing the Godfather on DVD for the fist time and cutting 25% of it becuase you didn't think people would spend the extra $6 on a full 2 disc version.

Should something be added to document the outrage created by this idiocy? I assume I was not the only one!

Apparently, we're talking about a CD originally released in 1985, when the medium was still rather primitive. To put it into some form of proper perspective, I think I wound up with something over 5,000 CDs in my collection before I quit accumulating them, and yet I wasn't buying CDs back then.
The reason I actually came here to comment - since I am ancient enough to remember this album when it was originally released, I recall that the vinyl, cassette and CD versions all had minor variations in the track listing. Also because I'm so ancient, exact details aren't coming to mind. Best I can recall is that of the first two formats, perhaps one contained "Sanctuary" but the other didn't. This section may still need some work, but it may require someone who still has those original releases; I don't.RadioKAOS (talk) 02:29, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
