RE: Template:WikiProject Professional sound production[edit]

Hey Fadookie! I really appreciate the initiative you took! My main goal was to "get the ball rolling" whether someone used my code or not. I'd never made a template before so was learning as I went along but ran out of time to work on it.

I'm totally fine with using the full name. I only opted for the short version because I was unaware of the standard. Good work on the assessment scheme and getting the automation going. That was something that really needed to happen because of the vast amount of substandard articles we have to tackle.

And thanks for keeping me posted and checking with me! Your community attitude is awesome. Hopefully once my studies die down I'll have time to get back to contributing to the project. In the meantime, keep it up! :) --Davidkazuhiro 05:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Fadookie. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Galaxy1.highlight.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Galaxy1.highlight.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Newcleushadowall.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Newcleushadowall.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image copyright problem with Image:Freesound sample screenshot.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Freesound sample screenshot.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. Orphaned non-free image File:Avid media composer screenshot.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Avid media composer screenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. The article Avid Unity ISIS has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable software stub. One paragraph of content and a list of links to the producers website. Tagged for notability since August 2010.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Jahshaka for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jahshaka is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jahshaka until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

I was going to attempt to save it, but there's little reliable third-party coverage, and the development seems to be highly sporadic. Mindmatrix 20:53, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive[edit]

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
  • updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.
