Untitled[edit]

I think Shanny's participation in movies is something worth mentioning. Also, he is known for inventing some rather tall tales for his team's media guide profile. In the past, he has claimed to have been a stand in for Dino for the Flintstones film, backup goalkeeper for Ireland at the World Cup, a football extra in the movie Forrest youiiuty amongst other strange tales.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.163.2.8 (talk) 14:52, June 26, 2006

Hmm, that could possibly qualify for 'Trivia', if backed up by references. Hdw 14:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mimico[edit]

When Shanahan was born, Mimico was part of Etobicoke. Having Mimico alone is technically inaccurate, as it did not exist on its own. So putting Mimico and Etobicoke satisfies accuracy and his identification with Mimico. Read the Mimico article. It states it is part of Toronto, was part of Etobicoke. ʘ alaney2k ʘ (talk) 14:45, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revert explanation[edit]

I reverted this edit[1], and here's my reasoning. The edit is factual, and sourced. In his position though, Shanahan makes dozens of fine and suspension decisions each year. For most of these you can find someone in the media who will say the decision should have been harsher or not as harsh. As a practical matter, we can't turn this into a 'list of discipline handed out by Shanahan'.--Cube lurker (talk) 19:07, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I call "Bush League" -- this is a highly controversial call by Shanahan that generated a lot of press and conversation.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Scooter5624 (talkcontribs)

I don't disagree that there's a degree of notability to the event, but there's already mentions in the article 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs and Shea Weber. In my opinion those are more workable articles for this info.--Cube lurker (talk) 19:35, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did not see the Weber update. I agree w/ your reasoning.

1987 punch-up in Piestany[edit]

I just opened up several of the bios of players involved in the Punch up in Piestany. I noticed that 2 bios Luke richardson and Brendan Shanahan do not have any mention of the punch-up in their bios. Is there any reason that this is the case? Obviously this is pretty well documented and would be an easy edit. If anyone would like to write a section for that, I would encourage them to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 13EvilCows (talkcontribs) 17:45, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
