Charcot and Gender[edit]

This article would benefit from a reading of Jill Harsin's article in French Historical Studies (1992).

Possible link to Jean-Martin Charcot items on “Himetop – The History of Medicine Topographical Database”[edit]

I suggest that somebody, interested in this page, could insert an external link to the following page describing, with pictures, some Florence Nightingale’s memories: http://himetop.wikidot.com/jean-martin-charcot

I don’t do it myself because I’m also an Administrator of this site (Himetop) and it could be a violation of the Wikipedia Conflict of Interest policy. Thanks for your attention.

New article on Charcot[edit]

Teive HA, Chien HF, Munhoz RP, Barbosa ER (2008). "Charcot's contribution to the study of Tourette's syndrome". Arq Neuropsiquiatr. 66 (4): 918–21. PMID 19099145. {{cite journal}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help)CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)

Criticism[edit]

Hi. Why on Earth did this article only have "criticism" in one uncited sentence? ("Charcot's works about hypnosis and his public demonstrations of "hypnotized" persons in an auditorium were sharply criticized by Hippolyte Bernheim, a leading neurologist of the time,[citation needed] and by Charcot's former scientific assistant Axel Munthe in his famous memoirs The Story of San Michele.[1]") M. Charcot did a lot of damage so I added a book source to summarize. -SusanLesch (talk) 18:26, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ok[edit]

The announcement was made simultaneously with Charcot and Marie together in France and Tooth separately in London. Where as Charcot and Marie were working in concert it's important to note Mr Tooth was working alone. That's in the source but then there's what has been Written.
