This has gone on for long enough. Unless someone has new information, we don't need to keep arguing his ancestry. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 19:11, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is Terry Hall son of jewish Holocaust-survivours? would be interesting to know 201.246.25.124 00:44, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about that but I know he has Jewish ancestry on his Mother's side which Wikipedia refuse to accept for some strange reason.

I don't think it is correct that his Jewish ancestry is on his mother's side. The articles these are based on were from an interview with Dorian Linksey and he stated that his grandfather was a German Jewish watchmaker. To be Jewish himself it would need to be his mother's lineage as Jewishness is a trait one is born into and they rarely accept converts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.170.57.206 (talk) 15:31, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That may well be, but Terry STILL HAS Jewish ancestry! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.224.198.189 (talk) 06:33, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't say he didn't have Jewish ancestry. I said he wasn't considered Jewish in Jewish society because it isn't on his mother's side. I know this is the case because that is my situation also. There are no synagogues in Coventry that I know of. He's from a Christian area. I think there are some anti-Semitic people harassing him and I to a severe extent and this interest in his religious life is difficult. He is trying to resolve tensions peacefully in the religious world and so am I. I'm not trying to accuse you of being a problem, but there is a problem that needs to be acknowledged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.170.57.205 (talk) 15:34, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I have just put up an image of Terry Hall from July 2007 when he was DJing there as a guest performer. Dirtyharry1994 (talk) 10:48, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Last Paragraph

The last paragraph to this seems a bit odd to say the least. I don't want to delete it though. It seems to be an out of context quote.(The Count 02:32, 18 February 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Fun Boy Three are not new wave

It says he formed a new wave band (Fun Boy Three)this is surely written by an American as no one who was seriously into music in Britain would have described any band as "new wave" by 1981. I should imagine they would have been called "new pop", or more likely have been uncategorisable at the time...or maybe viwed now as post punk but new wave...that was banda with conventional rock line ups with skinny ties and no-one in England who knew about music used it after about 1978/79. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.254.173.34 (talk) 07:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vegas?

I was just rewriting bits of Terry Hall Wiki when i just found out that there is nothing about his band Vegas. It would be great to add in as it would complete the article, or make it better than it already is. Thankyou Dirtyharry1994 (talk) 10:45, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While there wasn't much more than a sentence or two describing Vegas there was, quite recently, a more comprehensive discography containing the singles and album. In the last month the discography appears to have been separated into it's constituent parts. Unfortunately Vegas doesn't have a page and the information has been removed. It would have perhaps been pertinent to create a page for the band before the separations occured. Mmm... Charles Aznavour cover version... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.22.214.242 (talk) 22:15, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Specials first album

Re: "The Specials' first self-titled album features some of Hall's most recognizable and notable performances, including "Little Bitch", "Nite Klub" and "Concrete Jungle". " Just changed "Concrete Jungle" to "Too Much Too young", as Roddy Byers sang Concrete Jungle on the album. Hope the author doesn't mind. Pollythewasp (talk) 16:14, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Album 'Encore' needs to be added

The new album for The Specials' album 'Encore' on Island Records and their upcoming 40th Anniversary Tour needs to be added as of October 27 2018. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.170.57.205 (talkcontribs)

Death Date needs confirming source

Of the three currently linked references about the date of death, one is a tweet indicating it's 18 December 2022 (honestly probably the most accurate, but probably not verifiable by our standards), one doesn't list a date (The Guardian), and the other (Backseat Mafia) lists 19 December 2022. I've searched and can't find anything that seems to indicate the definitive correct date, everything just cites the band's Instagram post dated 19 December, which doesn't specify when Hall died. The article could use a solid source if we can find one. Darkage7[Talk] 21:19, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the guardian article has been updated to include the date. Seems reliable to me. Darkage7[Talk] 05:44, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I assume the tweet being referred to is the one from Specials bassist Horace Panter, which as well as the death date also gave details about Terry Hall's illness (cancer of the liver/pancreas). Can we add this? Mark and inwardly digest (talk) 07:47, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
