1999 Redistribution[edit]

Changes from Port Coquitlam to Port Coquitlam-Burke Mountain included:

  • Inclusion of Douglas Island
  • Removal of Westwood and other areas in Coquitlam, east of Port Moody
    • A major growth area. Not much population in 1996, but lots in 2001

Not much difference between the two electoral areas. All the differences come from the population growth in the area (ie. not from the redistribtion) between elections. Port Coquitlam-Burke Mountain growth included 4,791 people and about a $10,000 increase in the average household income. 2001 from 1996 -17 May 2005, maclean25

  • Ideally, I'd like to see only election results from the riding named Port Coquitlam-Burke Mountain on this page and a link to the former riding of Port Coquitlam where results for that would be. However, there is no article yet for the former provincial electoral district of Port Coquitlam and I'd rather concentrate on expanding current ridings first. Your temporary fix of declaring the boundary changes that took place in 1999 is satisfactory to me. DoubleBlue (Talk) 22:57, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
