Page move[edit]

I hereby propose that this be moved under title Anna Jagellonica

That will prevent confusions. And the present title is ridiculous: nowhere is her surname-based Latin attribute translated into English. No reader will find her if the title says "Jagiellonian". 62.78.126.212 19:50, 24 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to be bold and move this page. My reasons are as follows: 1) When searching 'anna jagiellon' on the web, all of the results were to pages that qouted this wikipedia article. 2) The Polish Government history page, at http://www.poland.gov.pl/Anna,Jagiellonka,(1523,–,1596),1960.html, referes to her as her Polish Name, but also as the new title, Anna the Jagiellonian but not as Ann Jagiellon. 3)I was able to find other sources that referred to her as Anna the Jagiellonian in a couple books on the history of poland, including The Polish-Lithuanian state, 1386-1795 By Daniel Stone, 2001. This led me to believe that the new title would be more appropriate and better represent this entry. The above suggestions of Anna Jagellonica was, but my accounts, not correct as it was not how the Polish goverment website spelled her name or attributed her name. Monarch?[edit]

Was she monarch? Then why was she not queen until her death in 1596? --85.226.44.74 (talk) 18:47, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    • She was indeed a monarch, and I have found cites to provide proof of this. However, you ask a very good question regarding her status as monarch until her death. I could not find an answer to this, but if somebody was able to successfully find, and cite, an answer, it would make a nice addition. MJSplant (talk) 22:10, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am having trouble finding more information about this question. I have been properly formatting the monarch's of Poland infoboxes and chose at this time to include her as a monarch. However did cite this article as needing more references. I did format the infobox for Anna in a somewhat unorthodox manner, as she is called a co-monarch with Stefan Batory and I did consider removing this status all together. In the end, as she is listed in the 'monarchs of poland' box and in the article of same, it seemed easiest to just clean up the existing infobox and leave Anna for better rewriting or citing or sources to a later date. If any one does this, I am happy to further clean up/correct the infobox. MJSplant (talk) 22:23, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have rewritten a vast majority of this article and believe it to be accurate now. I have changed much and added cites and have removed anything that I could not find a citation for while making my rewrite of the article. MJSplant (talk) 22:10, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

B-class?[edit]

This article is well referenced, but I am not sure if it is comprehensive enough for a B-class. See pl wiki article, which is much longer. A second opinion would be welcome for a B-class review. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 05:10, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
