Welcome!

Hello, Potatosalad, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  Dmn / Դմն 02:47, 16 Aug 2004 (UTC)

It appears that crab Basket is not notable. Will you not removed the votes for deletion notice, or un-nowiki the external links, please. To merit inclusion in the wikipedia, a band must be notable, and we have established tests for notability such as looking them up at the all music guide. We welcome any contributions from you on notable subjects (perhaps you would like to talk about Crab Basket's influences?) Dunc_Harris| 22:12, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Java[edit]

Hi. Please disambiguate "Java" on your user page. For example, Java. Thanks. RedWolf 00:49, Oct 1, 2004 (UTC)

O.P. Rockwell[edit]

I have an odd suspicion you're a decendent of Rockwell. Otherwise, I can't imagine why you created a page for Luana Beebe which to my knowledge was not a particularly notable individual, certainly not more so than Rockwell's other two wives, which you don't even imply the existence of. Please establish more notability in this article—this is not wikigenealogy.

At any rate, I removed Rockwell from the Extermination Order because it's tangent anyhow, and I have no time at the moment you work on it. There is controversy about it, and it's certainly an open question. Cool Hand Luke 19:45, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Vandals using the same IP as you[edit]

Thanks for contacting me. If this IP address is blocked for vandalism, it will only be for a limited period of time. Most blocks are for 24 hours. I left the following notice on the user page and talk page of 168.9.35.14:

Note to sysops: I have received notice that this I.P. is for a computer used at a public high school. Some users on this domain are responsible contributors, and others are vandals. Since a student is not likely to use this computer for more than an hour at a time, it is recommended that any blocks on this account due to vandalism last only for an hour.

I hope you don't have any more trouble with this. My advice is to log in whenever you edit. These problems shouldn't apply to you if you do.

School IP Address Blocked[edit]

{{unblock|I was under the impression that I would still be able to edit pages if I was able to log in (overriding the IP address block for my high school). That's what I've always been able to do in the past, has the blocking policy changed?}}

Forgot to include the block message:

  • Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing.
  • You were blocked by Hall Monitor for the following reason (see our blocking policy):
    • "please have an authorised representative from your school contact an administrator to have this block removed"
  • Your IP address is 168.9.35.14.

No it's never worked like that. --pgk(talk) 14:27, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:MainPage-Firefox0.9.3-Optim.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MainPage-Firefox0.9.3-Optim.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:40, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
