TradeWars 2002 vs. Tradewars 2002, Trade Wars 2002, etc.[edit]

If anyone has any insight as to the correct naming/capitalization convention, that would be great. Nathanlarson32767 (Talk) 22:37, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)

This is John Pritchett, TW co-author and current owner of the game. I hold the trademark on TradeWars, and that includes all variations; "Trade Wars", "Tradewars", "TradeWars", "TradeWars 2002", etc. The Sherrick version always used the name "Tradewars", while Martin's version used "Trade Wars". I have chosen to officially use "TradeWars" in reference to the game, because it is a more unique title than "Trade Wars" (which is often used to reference the common economic concept), making it easier to locate relevant info in the search engines. Therefore, though it's not what the game was originally called, I currently call it "TradeWars 2002", and will refer to any new games as "TradeWars", including, for example, TradeWars Rising. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.30.118.137 (talkcontribs) 20:11, 16 March 2008

Fair use rationale for Image:Twimage.jpg[edit]

Image:Twimage.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:56, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Links to BBSes now allowed?[edit]

Just wondering why the House of Lunduke BBS is linked from this page. Are we now allowing BBS systems who run Tradewars 2002 to be linked from the page? I've read the back and forth on this, and it's seriously TLDR; so can we get consensus? I ask because I run a multiline/multisystem BBS that runs MajorBBS TW2002 v2.00p, The Door Version of TW2002 and a fully registered 100 port/25 game TWGS server. I wouldn't mind being linked to be honest. --204.209.209.129 (talk) 03:41, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removed it. The external links section should be for links about the subject, not specific implementations. (WP:EL). --— Rhododendrites talk |  05:58, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
