Untitled[edit]

Tevita Momoedonu was not appointed because of nepotism - he was appointed because he was the only Labour MP willing to go along with the legal end run.

The fact that he was willing to do so probably does have something to do with the relationship between himself and Tui Vuda. Being a respectful nephew and doing what his uncle says was probably a big factor in his decision. This however is not nepotism - or the favoring relatives or personal friends because of their relationship rather than because of their abilities.

Had thier been a whole bunch of Labour MP's rushing to sign up to be PM for a day then we could discuss the possibility of nepotsism.

Just because a bunch of FLP hacks are clutching at straws on the web doesn't mean we should repeat it, especially when the accusation fundamentally doesn't make sense. --Xorkl000 02:23, 22 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you here. I'm simply REPORTING what these cynics said - I'm not saying for one moment that I AGREE with it. The NPOV policy of wikipedia, if I understand it correctly, requires us to report people's viewpoints without adding our own views. Personally, I felt that what these guys were saying was just sour grapes, but that they said it is a fact which should be stated, I think. But I think we should perhaps reword it a bit to make it clear that this was not an objective fact but an opinion expressed by his opponents, who cannot be expected to be fair-minded.
