What is the source for the first patient being admitted on the 15 February 1852? Everything I can find on the website talks about opening on Valentines day. Thryduulf (talk)

Removal of entries

I've removed from the births section of this article:

• Musicians who don't even have entries in a "Year in Music" article.
• Tennis players who've never had a top 100 world ranking.
• Minor celebrities who don't have multiple wikipedia articles in other languages.

I don't think any of these can be considered to be of international significance. Deb (talk) 13:12, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Birth and death entries

Continuing the ongoing effort to reduce the size of the Births and Deaths sections to make them manageable, I've removed some celebrities with few or no articles in other wikipedias, moving the entries to the appropriate Year in Topic article if they were not already present. This is in accordance with the guidelines.Deb (talk) 19:13, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Noticed last year that somebody thought it necessary to label a number of people as "Jewish" even if it had no bearing at all on what that person had accomplished. Does it really matter if an actor or noted doctor was Jewish? NO IT DOESN'T. To me it reeked of anti-semitism and I am not even Jewish. Most of the "Jewish" listings have already been removed since last year at this time, but I saw no more than a half dozen for this day's entry and I have removed them. Don't like it? Hey Editors or whatever you people are called, how about unprotecting the page for a little bit to get rid of the "Jewish" labels that some jerk put back in again. St Vardan?

Why is St Vardan mentioned on this day? The Wiki article of saints of the Armenian Apostolic Church lists him on this date for last year. "[C]ommemoration day in the official Armenian Church calendar is usually in the month of February and on very rare occasions may fall in the first week of March. The actual Saint Vardan day is a moving day, as it always has to fall on Thursday..." Quis separabit? 16:43, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
