  • Cleanup needed to convert rhetorical questions to normal prose, and reduce US-centric treatment - MPF 13:46, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
  • Clean-up needed to change from a term paper to an article. But the contributor did give it a good and thorough start. I think it may be too big to merge into invasive species, but maybe after cleanup that can be done. - Marshman 21:00, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • As requested on the discussion page, we propose to clean up the invasive plants page, convert rhetorical examples to normal prose, and reduce US-centric treatment. We will include relevant examples and up-to-date ecological theory on invasive plant mechanisms. We will post changes on Dec. 9, 2005. We have written from our areas of knowledge, but welcome additional information from contributors outside California and the United States. --PBG250 23:50, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • i look forward to inclusion of other points of view on this matter, particularly as found in the book "Invasion Biology: Critique of a PseudoScience". As this particular article stands it is grossly POV. Anastrophe 00:45, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Anastrophe, thanks for removing the "ducks" example - that just a confusing area. In light of the hullabaloo over on the "Invasive species" page, I'm only adding the new Introduction to this page today, so that people can have time to mull it over before adding the next section. Due to computer/time/connection limitations, as well as the volume of added and expanded material, it's impractical for me to edit it "live" on Wikipedia, so I'll to do the paste-and-replace method. I know this isn't the optimal method, but if you compare the "before" and "after" versions you'll be able to see how much was kept - and most of it was, just in expanded form. Hopefully this won't give as much offense as doing the entire article at once.--PBG250 16:57, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Adding the section about what species characteristics lead to invasion. Will add the section about environmental characteristics in a few days, allowing time for feedback from this one.PBG250 17:57, 1 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not qualified to write about it, but, as Anastrophe suggests above, apparently there's some degree of controversy about invasive species. This article by Toby Hemenway, reviews "Invasion Biology: Critique of a Pseudoscience" by David Theodoropoulos. He makes a good case for the view that invasive species aren't all bad after all. Perhaps somebody who's more qualified could add a Controversy section? Waitak 07:30, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
