While the term CDP is technically correct when referring to the census data, many residents of Newington and the surrounding areas would say that Newington is a "town". The external link reflects this, and Newington has a "Town Council" government. In Connecticut, counties are of very limited importance, and so towns and cities are effectively the only layer of organization between the State of Connecticut and individual households. As such, additions to this article (for example, discussing local schools) should probably refer to the "town". Kime1R 13:19, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Smallest waterfall?[edit]

Although, as a Newington resident, I have heard the "smallest waterfall" claim numerous times, I don't know of any authoritative source which backs this up. From a logical perspective, it seems that a waterfall (natural or artificial) could be arbitrarily small, making it seem highly unlikely that Mill Pond Falls, at 16 feet, is the smallest, unless some additional criterion is place. I could not find any reference of this as being the smallest waterfall in North America, as it is mostly referenced on forums or on other sites that pull information directly from Wikipedia. This site lists the smallest waterfall in North America as being Sandstone Falls at 20ft tall. Mill Pond Falls would be the smallest if it were included onto the list. World Waterfall Database
