Approach Slope

Totally puzzled by your revert on my correction to your original article.

The slope has got to ABOVE the horizontal, if it were below the horizontal the height of an object moving along the slope would increase as you travelled along the approach. (unsigned edit by: M100)

Ah, Now I think I see the source of the confusion. I mean 3 degrees below the horizontal from the point of view of the airplane. I.e. if you're flying the plane perfeclty level, you would angle your path down 3 degrees in order to fly the approach slope. Does that clarify what I mean? No stop it! I agree that Mais oui! was wrong to change the F1 infoboxes (i.e. ignoring consensus). But you were 100% wrong to call his edits vandalism. I reverted his changes too - and pointed out the consensus issue, I did not call it vandalism. Mark83 20:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Take 4u1e's advice but please take mine too. You seem to be going out for a fight, that is totally unacceptable. Your "vandalism" edit summaries only heighten an already tense situtation. Hi M100 - thanks for the note; the main problem here is that the plaque can't really be taken as a 'reliable source'; see the references cited at Taxus baccata, which have shown that old yews are nowhere nearly as old as they are often claimed to be. Even the much larger Fortingall Yew (the oldest yew of all) is now reckoned to be a maximum of 2,000, compared to previous claims of up to 5,000 or more. - MPF 20:41, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

M100, thanks for your message. My rationale was that: 'As far a I know, the three most notable single-seater races are: Monaco Grand Prix (F1), 24 Hours of Le Mans (ALMS) and Indy 500 (IRL). Why not having a category for every aforementioned race?' Mxcatania (talk) 16:46, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Asking for a citation is not pointless, whether or not the information is factual. In general the Lotus Elise article needs to reference its sources much better. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. swaq 03:23, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Doncaster

In reference to the tolls demanded by the Levetts on the bridges in Doncaster, I'm not quite sure what your question is. There is ample documentary proof that Richard Levett was an alderman and later mayor of Doncaster on the dates given. (See this record from Doncaster's own municipal records.([1]) Or this one.([2]) There is also ample documentary proof that the Levetts had been collecting tolls on the bridges. As for the city reference, I was using 'city' as a figure of speech, not an officially designated place (a way to avoid saying town again). As far as Parliament ordering Christopher Levett to appear with the patent on the tolls, sources from The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, an eminent publication published in Boston, were given.([3]) So where exactly is the problem?
