From my Talk Page Mozzerati asked:

The date you gave in this article (1783-93 Govener of Dominica) doesn't match the external link you also gave [1] or the current one [2] both of which say 1784 - 1789. Any idea about the discrepancy? Are your dates from some outside source?

My reply to Mozzerati on his talk page:
I can't remember which source, but it may have been EB1911, and I would not garantee that the source which I used was correct because it was from the internet. But a quick trawl of the internet throws up this:

1791: Slave revolt in the south and east of the island, mainly in the parish of St.Patrick. Sir John Orde receives vote of thanks from the Assembly and planter interests for suppressing the revolt.[3]

So the dates which are supplied in the two links may not be correct. See also:

The arms are of American interest. They are of Orde for Sir John Orde, First Baronet, Admiral of the White, Governor of Dominica 1783-93, M.P. for Yarmouth 1807-12, born 1751, created Baronet 1790. He married first in 1781 to Margaret Emma, daughter and co-heir of Richard Stephens of St. Helena, South Carolina, who died in 1790, and secondly in 1793, the daughter of John Frere of Roydon, Norfolk. He died in 1824.[4]
