Phonebooking

We read that "Phonebooking refers to the act of attacking a person with phone books. Started by a group of students at the University of Waterloo, the practice has now spread to a number of universities around North America." It has escaped the notice of the New York Times since 1996. This article links to a site that appears to celebrate "phonebooking". (I didn't investigate it far, as boredom overtook me.) Well, phonebooking is either for real, in which case the article might be seen as indirectly advocating violence, or else it's all posed and just for laughs, in which case it's too silly for words. Maybe it's somewhere in between. Does anyone much care? -- Hoary 03:25, 2004 Dec 19 (UTC)

To clarify, it's a humorous practice. Could you clarify which point under the Deletion Policy you are using to justify the deletion of this article, so I can respond to it more fully? Yup, no offense intended by me, either. If people like to wave phone books around (and take photos of this), let them. (But deep disappointment.
