Cum[edit]

I think it's originally a US English term that has been imported into British English. However I don't think I can do research on this topic from work ;) Secretlondon 13:43, Oct 31, 2003 (UTC)

I was talking to some pmbridge University about the subject when I was there, and they say that it the term comes from "come to orgasm", I forget where it was that that phrase was popularised. They say that it got deformed to 'cum' only very recently, by those who didn't understand that it SHOULD be spelt "come", and it just caught on. It seems to me ... unfortunate, let us say, that nearly the entirety of the article on a pretty basic (not to say seminal) concept in life is on the vulgar meaning -- there's almost no mention of the non-sexual sense(s) of coming. --Calieber 15:48, Oct 31, 2003 (UTC)

I propose that Cum be merged into Come. It looks like the word "cum" is within the scope the "Come" page. Alternatively we could reduce the scope "Come" page to not cover "cum" and move the "cum" content to the "Cum" page. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 18:51, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sexual slang[edit]

I don't understand why the sexual slang bit was removed. As both seem to be common accepted spellings (with cum perhaps being more common although also sometimes seen as more vulgar and others using cum for the noun and come for verb), it should be covered in both articles or neither. Since both are disambigs, it makes little sense to prioritise one article over the other either so best just cover the same thing in both rather than redirecting the reader to one bearing in mind also we are not a dictionary. This is of course a different thing from covering stuff that only relate to cum here which I agree we shouldn't do and those removals were proper. Nil Einne (talk) 15:23, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
