Train lines[edit]

I'm curious, nothing else, but please tell how far from Yaroslavl do direct trains go now, when the Transibirian line is led via Gorky? --Ruhrjung 22:58, Jan 8, 2005 (UTC)

I don't know about Nizhny Novgorod, but the trains to Vladivostok and Beijing, as usual, pass through Yaroslavl. --Ghirlandajo 08:30, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The classic 'Transsiberian' Moscow-Vladivostok trains no.1 and no.2, no longer go through Yaroslavl, nor i think do the ones to China. However the train no. 240 does still run from Moscow to Vladivostok via Yaroslavl, and the 239 the other way. These stop at the old Moskovsky station in Yaroslavl, not at the main station. There are regular trains that stop at the main Yaroslavl station between Moscow and other Far-Eastern/Siberian destinations like Blagoveshchensk, Krasnoyarsk etc.

Plan to split History of Yaroslavl[edit]

I am planning to split the text, to create a subarticle "History of Yaroslavl" because the History section consumes about 1/3 of the article already, and with Yaroslavl being Russia's second-largest city in prior centuries, the history is separately notable from today's city. Hence, the subarticle covers a notable topic, and it would reduce the article "Yaroslavl" by almost one-third less text to maintain in the main article. The current History section would be condensed into a few paragraphs. Are there any reasons not to split the text? -Wikid77 (talk) 18:51, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As long as the remainder sufficiently summarizes the new subarticle, I don't see why not.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); January 24, 2012; 18:52 (UTC)

Sister cities[edit]

Deleted Kazan, Da Nang, and an Italian city as they are not Yaroslavl sister cities. There were some agreements with them, but they were not about sister cities relations. See http://www.city-yar.ru/home/city/international_relations.html--Barsoff (talk) 05:48, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Footbal[edit]

The football stadium will not be rebuilt as there will be no World Football Cup games in Yaroslavl in 2018.--Barsoff (talk) 06:51, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Urlashov[edit]

According to the RAPSI source Urlashov has been removed from his post as mayor. That makes him a "former" mayor. If this isn't correct, please provide a reliable source (more reliable than RAPSI), when editing. Thank you. --Truther2012 (talk) 15:12, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a bit on Alexander Nechayev with a source to gazeta.ru.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); October 7, 2013; 15:41 (UTC)
