Should this category also contain defunct mining companies, such as the UMHK, or should these be placed in a seperate sub-category, such as Category:Defunct mining companies? — Itai (f&t) 09:53, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
UMHK is not really defunct insofar as mining operations are continuing at the deposits it worked; the company there now is carrying on where UMHK once worked. There are many defunct mining companies that worked deposits that are now depleted, or that do not have as important a history as UMHK. --McTrixie 13:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
