Practical Consideration[edit]

I'm not going to jump straight in with a revert, but is the failure of gullwing car rooves to support a beverage cup while fumbling for keys *really* a practical consideration? I mean I agree that the inability of loads to be roof-racked can be a problem (especially considering that most gullwing cars have 'sportscar level' storage space...ie practically microscopic :). I just saw bladerunner and realized that the gullwing doors were used on the police cars. Since bladerunners came out a few years before back to the future, anyone think that bladerunner originated this idea?

Also, the Delorean went into production before Bladerunner was released, and was being designed before Bladerunner was in production. Also, the Bricklin came even before the Delorean was prototyped. Andy Christ 20:35, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-gullwing cars in the list[edit]

There are articles for most of those door designs. They are linked from here. I'm going to trim out the non-gullwing stuff. If you strongly disagree, it'll still be there in the history.Andy Christ 19:53, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it's unnecessary for the other designs to be mentioned in the "Similar designs" section. They are not similar designs, they are totally different! They are all linked at the bottom of the page in the "See also" section. We don’t have it for scissor doors or butterfly doors or any other page, so why have it here. Its irrelevant.

Anything that isn't relevant to gullwing doors, shouldn’t be on the gull wing doors page. Yes, some styles of door might not have their own page, then create them, don't just put them on a page where they're not relevant.

You wouldn't put one person on another person’s page because they don't have a page, you would create the page. So why do the same thing here???

I have taken down the "Similar designs" section for these reasons. If you object, please comment.

Kit Car List deeply lacking[edit]

There were some really glaring errors in the kit car list, and I corrected the biggest ones. There are a great many cars missing though, as kit cars were often built with gullwings. I'll try and fill it out when I have time.--Snowrail (talk) 17:29, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merging with "List of cars with unusual doors"?[edit]

The "list of cars with unusual doors" page is essentially just this page combined with list of cars with scissor doors and so on. One of the pages should be removed in my opinion, or that page should just refer to this one. Keeping the two synchronized seems like pointless labor.--Snowrail (talk) 17:30, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
