See also List of cities in Washington State; AND (not surprisingly, apart from the fact that it seems not to have been written yet) List of towns in Washington State. Hey, folks, I enjoy reading these lists as much as the next fella who has rellies living in some of them - but isn't this overkill?

If the three lists are to remain in existence, someone should at least:

  • Define "town" in the two that include towns - and give:
    • EITHER a reason why and in what precise way it includes large census tracts that are urban areas but are technically just parts of counties
    • OR a reason why it does not
  • Link from each to the other two.

Sorry, I created the problem. I was looking at the "Washington" page and only saw a few major cities listed and thought it would be nice to have list of all cities and towns not realizing that their was a list started. While working on my list adding cities and towns as I thought of them, I noticed that they all had pages with census data. From this, I concluded that a list of all cities and towns must exist in the census data. Looking through the census data, I found the list and saw that the entities were listed as city, town or CDP which I haven't yet figured out what it means. Thus I started a new list for cities and for towns. That's how we got here. At this point the List of Washington cities and towns is superfluous but I don't know how to delete it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.19.45.139 (talkcontribs) 02:05, 2 September 2004‎
