The reason why I censored the rap group's name on this page is that the term "NWA", among other things, also disambiguates into "Northwest Arkansas", perhaps the most politically conservative region of that state; the expletive in the rap group's name would offend many people in that region (even though there are few African-Americans there). The best way to prevent "drive-by" (no pun intended) exposure to the expletive is to censor the name here, but refer interested persons to the main article (where their name is, and must remain, uncensored). --RBBrittain 06:18, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your concern, but even if it is offensive to some people, those people should take it up with the band. All Wikipedia is doing is displaying the truth, and the truth is that this band has a name with the word 'Niggaz' in it. Even if it does offend some people, Wikipedia is not censored, and so what is true will be displayed. This is an encyclopedia, not some politically correct collection of information that has had bits cut out as to not to offend people. If that were the case, you may as well go into every article and change the word 'Nigger' to 'N*****' or 'Fuck' to 'F***', etc. When people go onto the NWA page, they will see 'N***** with attitude', and they will guess there and then what it is, and so if they are going to get offended, it will be then as well. The point is that Wikipedia is NOT censored, it simply displays facts. The Haunted Angel 15:42, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
