Untitled[edit]

Someone by the name of Hassan Khosravi posted this article on www.persianfootball.com under his own name whereas I (once, 67.70.30.245, a regular contributor to wikipedia under a user name) wrote almost every word. Isn't there a law against posting wikipedia articles under your own name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.68.57.242 (talk) 19:17, 19 August 2004 (UTC)[reply]

It's a violation of the GFDL not to attribute Wikipedia. You should post persianfootball.com on Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks RickK 19:53, Aug 19, 2004 (UTC)

Missing club[edit]

I didn't see a single mention of Ali Daei's time at Southampton in the English Premiership. Very strange. This is supposed to be an encyclopaedia. Warts and all please in future.

  • Ali Daei never played for Soutampton, maybe there were rumors, but he never was there. Nokhodi 00:12, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please enlighten me as to who it was Graeme Souness put on the pitch that one time only - his name on his shirt was Daei...
  • That was Ali Dia. Princeofpersia1 14:46, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More missing details[edit]

Since when did any team play 56 games to qualify for a World Cup Finals?? Also, not a single mention of Ali Daei's Turkic ethnicity. This probably means nothing to the Iranian regime, but I imagine there may be a few people in the Iranian region of Azerbaycan who would mind. Is Wikipedia really meant for secondary school quality sycophantic articles?? I fear it has become so.

56 games (caps) and 38 goals was Ali Daei's record at the end of the World Cup. It's now re-written and more clear.
Ali Daei is born in Ardabil - originally part of Iranian province of Azerbayjan; now Ardabil province - and it's mentioned about three times in the article. Siba 14:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just want to say thank to whom put these info here. This is good to do these stuffs for legend when he is alive. Daei is the GREATEST.

Azeri is an Iranic ethnicity itself, are you confusing yourself?!!! or you are trying to say something with don't know!

Source for Azari[edit]

What is the source of this? If there is no source it will have to be deleted. Khorshid 03:06, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is listed as an Azeri by Wikipedia [1], he was born in Ardabil which is an Azeri city, Nation Master states that he is "is an Iranian football player of Azeri descent" [2].--88.109.32.246 11:57, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
nationmaster.com/encyclopedia is a mirror of Wikipedia, it can't be used as a source per WP:Sources. --ManiF 14:33, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ali daei is Azeri from Ardabil, Iran You can also hear his accent when he is speaking. That is something everybody knows in Iran. The thing is that the Baku- republic of Azerbaijan spelling is out of place here. Azeri language in Iran does not use that language. All in all names are names and do not matter in this or that language. It is as if you say my name is x in Chinese, but Y in Russian and z in Italian etc...

Im sure he doesnt play any more more national team, maybie only one game in future for goodbye from football. Joojoo 2:41, 18 Januray

He hasn't officially retired himself from international football, but its unlikely he will be invited again.Nokhodi 23:27, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You have a source for this? Malakaville 04:08, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No I just heard that he retired. Miraculousrandomness 18:14, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He has officially retired from playing club football. It is sourced in the article. Also search for it in the internet and you can find several articles.Nokhodi 07:43, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
