Should there be an entry for Electronics Modeling?

I do not know what these file types are: bsdl ibis ,exactly.

IBIS = Input/Output Buffer Information Specification http://www.national.com/appinfo/lvds/IBIS_OVERVIEW.html

they are used to describe models of components.

Maybe also something on SPICE and descriptive languages like Verilog?

Sounds and looks really cool, could be made a little a bit more interesting though...?

Should a new sub-cataogry also be added for eletronics related jokes? There is at the very least the everpresent one about Magic smoke. Maybe there are more unrefrenced out there? I rember a lot of humor involved during my schooling in this field. --ElectraFlarefire 06:38, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I would like to see Mathematical_Methods_of_Electronics added to this list but I cannot work out how to add it - mickpc

Number of pages in this category[edit]

So people: as of now there are 117 pages within the electronics category. Do people want a limited number or an unlimited number of pages. I don't mind adding pages but there is no point if people don't like it. The page could have a thousand or so, (or more - easy), that way it reads like an index of a book, but it means that subjects of 'importance' would get drowned out. Any comments?

I have allocated most of the pages to approp subcats and created a few new subcats. -- Alan Liefting- (talk) - 11:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Electronics is getting so big that we need an Electronics Portal.[edit]

Anyone want to start an Electronics Portal? Jake Ben Delbek 18:28, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What the Hell happend to Electrical Engineering!??![edit]

What numb-nut of an undereducated wikipedian came up with the idea of listing "ELECTRONICS" as a sub-category of TECHNOLOGY eventhough it's a direct sub-section of ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, which is in turn a sub-section of TECHNOLGY!

The Electronics Portal is linked to the german "ELEKTROTECHNIK" portal, which is entire BULLSHIT, since ELEKTROTECHNIK means "ELECTRIAL ENGINEERING" (which includes as sub-section electronics).

ELECTRONICS as a field of it's own can not exist outside the realm of electrical engineering. No university in the whole world offers a "Electronics Degree". It's an Electrical Engineering Degree!

I demand, for the sanity of all science and engineering, that ELECTRONICS is merged with Electrical Engineering like it should be, which is then in turn linked to the Technologies page.

The German "ELEKTROTECHNIK" Portal is set up like that. You have all the physics, all the electrical generation stuff, the grid electrical stuff and the electronics stuff in one portal so people who come there dont get the hell confused and think electronics is seperate from electrical engineering - it's the damn same thing, except electronic uses active components at much less voltages. Otherwise everything else is the damn same and you are required to understand high voltage to understand low voltage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Al.arodob (talkcontribs) 01:15, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
