Largest?[edit]

What is meant by "The Mandrill is the world's largest species of monkey"? Does that mean the madrill is the most populous or what? If the is meant to be size wise I think it is incorrect because gorillas are certainly bigger. Does any one know what this sentence is talking about or should it be removed? Tubbablub (talk) 08:28, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gorillas are classified as apes, not as monkeys. --Kay Dekker (talk) 18:44, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems they're similar-sized to the (closely related) Drill? 77.99.246.115 (talk) 09:19, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No one has clarified this, right? The page for the Drill says males can be 50Kg. Jokem (talk) 01:16, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the cited reference for Drill males being up to 50kg. That was incorrect. They can weigh up to 20kg, per the reference. I've update that. With the male Mandrills weighing up to 30kg, the "largest monkey" moniker stands. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:41, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tail[edit]

In the the first paragraph under "appearance" it says that they have stumpy tails. In the last sentence it says they have long tails. So which is it? Jupe77 (talk) 07:40, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
