Halibutt's RfA[edit]

Thanks. WikiThanks.
Thanks. WikiThanks.
I would like to express my thanks to all the people who took part in my (failed) RfA voting. I was both surprised and delighted about the amount of support votes and all the kind words! I was also surprised by the amount of people who stated clearly that they do care, be it by voting in for or against my candidacy. That's what Wiki community is about and I'm really pleased to see that it works.
As my RfA voting failed with 71% support, I don't plan to reapply for adminship any more. However, I hope I might still be of some help to the community. Cheers! Halibutt 05:10, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good job...nice cleanup...I like it much better! [1]--MONGO 11:52, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings[edit]

I blocked the last two, including one newly registered. It appears to be a vandalism-only account. Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 01:20, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not worth changing it now... but it's customary to list a bunch of related junk articles like that into a single AfD. The way I've usually seen it done is: to create the first AfD as normal, then link the other AfD's to it by editing the like in their AfD notice boxes... finally all the titles are listed together in the L2 heading like

crap1, crap2, [[crap3] and crap4
thanks[edit]

thanks for the warning; we'll see what he is up to :) dab () 14:31, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Good eye on the potential vandal account...it qualifies as a indefinite block due to being an imposter...but I won't do that, and he has yet to edit, so I'll keep a watchful eye out...appreciate the heads up...happy editing!--MONGO 09:51, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sailing Wiki[edit]

Hi BadSeed,

My name is johnsee and I'm trying to track down people keen on both sailing and wiki's to help with a new collborative sailing wiki. It's CC licensed, and a community project (mostly of sailing bloggers) and completely non profit. If I could interest you in helping out the wiki is here. If not, I apologise for stealing a few lines of room on your talk page :)

Fair use rationale for Image:Zorba_DVD_cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Zorba_DVD_cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 17:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Zorba DVD cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Zorba DVD cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:12, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Badseed, why do you believe MoiraMoira's global haunting actions, instead of reading into my case. I didn't no harm to anyone at all, in Greece nor anywhere else. I'll really hope to find my talkpage repaired by you again. Thanks in advance with kind regards: ing. D.A. Borgdorff EE - 86.83.155.44 (talk) 12:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
