Welcome!

Hello, Lhu03pc, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  --Flockmeal 00:40, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

I reverted your edits to the selected article, bio, and image, but not for substantive reasons; the length of the news, DYK, and TYCD sections is such that even were one to resize the columns to the 58-41 formulation previously employed the column on the right would remain substantially longer than that on the left in a particularly aesthetically displeasing way. I intend to weigh in on the general discussion between Dhodges and you at the portal's talk page in the next day or day-and-one-half (in brief to say that I think you both to be quite right apropos of the unwieldy length of the selected article, bio, and image sections and that I will shorten considerably the versions of those pages that I intend to add later this week, when also I intend to update the news and replace the DYK but that, for reasons I'll enumerate, I think the lengthier introduction ought to remain), but I think I ought to leave you a note in the meanwhile; although it is an offense of which I'm sure I've been guilty, I'm nevertheless irked when an editor, as I here, notes in an edit summary that he/she will explain the edit straightaway and then, having become occupied with something else, fails ever to offer such explanation. I'm quite glad, in any case, that Dhodges and you have expressed interest in the portal, and I'd be altogether happy if the two of you should be willing to assume responsibility for updating the page's various sections after I make my planned updates later this week, but surely we can discuss that later; in the meanwhile, I offer my apologies for having failed to explain my reverts at the portal talk page (much too tired) and assure you that I will offer such explanation directly. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Giro d'Italia logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Giro d'Italia logo.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:T-Mobile 2006 team.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:T-Mobile 2006 team.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
