History section[edit]

This article could really use a history section- it'd be nice to document how ice hockey equipment basically evolved from sticks and blades to kevlar body armour and carbon-compound whips. --Wafulz 05:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC) jnjn — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.30.79.146 (talk) 05:43, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the History Section was a really good addition to the article, however I think it could still use improvement and expansion. For example, the history of hockey skates, essentials to the sport, is glazed over in two short sentences leaving the reader confused and unsatisfied with the explanation. I understand that a long history section might go off topic from the article's main purpose but it could still use some work to satisfy the reader. Also citations are needed to add credibility. I want to know the name of the protective gear for the bums and hips. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.112.12.109 (talk) 04:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pants, though they're known as breezers in some locations (really just Minnesota). 128.153.218.220 (talk) 17:39, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
