Duplicate of Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev (note extra 'y') which includes slightly more information. Dbiv 00:56, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Is there any reason you don't want to simply redirect these? They don't need to be listed on VfD to be turned into redirects. olderwiser 02:22, Nov 4, 2004 (UTC)
  • Agree. There is also Wikipedia:Duplicate articles to handle these if you aren't sure what to merge. -- Netoholic @ 02:55, 2004 Nov 4 (UTC)
  • Did you guys actually look at this? Redirect? From one substub to another? They're both deletion candidates for being zero content. This one as much as the other. Delete. Geogre 03:26, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep 'eye' and make 'ee' a redir to it. Looking at Yakovlev (aircraft) he clearly deserves an article, and deleting it will break the connection between some related articles. Send to cleanup if size is that much of a concern, but it looks like someone may have to go to the library to add much. There doesn't seem to be much additional info available on the web, even changing the search from the full name to "Alexander Yakovlev" aeroflot. Niteowlneils 03:59, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep & Redirect to Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev. These are probably both valid transliterations of his middle name. Given that they were created by different people, redirecting would probably help others find the article. -- JamesTeterenko 06:00, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep and merge all three into one entry. So what if all three are stubs right now, this is a noteworthy person--check out the what links here for all three. The only real question is which is the best name to use to merge these. I think Aleksandr Yakovlev may be ambiguous, as there seems to be an actor with the same name born in 1917 (ASY was born in 1906). After filtering out wikipedia, freedictionary and wikiverse, Google shows 55 hits for "Alexander Sergeevich Yakovlev" and 12 for "Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev". FWIW, "Aleksandr Sergeevich Yakovlev" gets only 6 hits while "Aleksandr Sergeyevich Yakovlev" gets 56. So I see it as a tossup between "Alexander Sergeevich Yakovlev" and "Aleksandr Sergeyevich Yakovlev". olderwiser 18:55, Nov 4, 2004 (UTC)
