Geogre, as a Southerner transplanted to the DC-NYC corridor, I can happily(?) report that phrase is alive and well around here too. Katefan0 22:58, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
Note that it's also one of those names that forms a sentence, like "Laura Spitz" or "Laura Bowles." I can only hope she didn't have to endure taunting for it in the UK and therefore feel that she must over-achieve by, say, going to Oxford and running for the presidency of the Oxford Union.   • Delete. Probably not a personal vanity article (wouldn't she have included more details?) - but still not notable enough yet. She will get press coverage in the UK and will be reported beyond her own college - but still not sure that's enough. There are 45 ex-Presidents of the Oxford Union who merit their own Wikipedia article (which probably makes it more than 'a position in a college'). But the others listed have done something notable beyond that before getting their own article. Mpntod 23:23, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
    • Hear, hear. I was bracing myself for an argument as to whether Poots is notable for being the first person to succeed a British-born Asian woman as a Union president ;-). And I doubt the press coverage will extend beyond the Oxford Student -- really, very few people who's president of the Oxford Union, not even most of its members. Pnot 09:40, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)
