Fictional categorization[edit]

In accordance to the discussion at Category talk:Fictional I tried to cleanup this Category:Harry Potter to only include Fictional characters, places, etc. All "real life" articles and subcategories (Rowling, books, movies) I've taken out of this category and instead inserted bidirectional "See also" links. If you have any questions about these changes, please just ask. -- Pjacobi 15:12, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Template[edit]

It seems to me that we are in desperate need of a template for Harry Potter-related articles. In particular, the synopses are getting out of control, with a chapter-by-chapter retelling of the story at Half Blood Prince, but since there are so many articles and so many things to write about, it seems that it's time to start figuring this out. Seven years later, perhaps for a long time, there is a navigation box (one type of template), namely Template:Harry Potter. Several days ago I put it in this category to be sorted above the alphabet (*) --where the portal should also be sorted. It does need to be prominent here, perhaps only here.
Should the Category preface be expanded to explain and link the Portal and Template (and explain what Harry Potter is)? The navigational sense of Portal may be understood by most visitors, but we can do better(?). The navigational or directory sense of Template must be unknown to many. --P64 (talk) 17:05, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actors[edit]

There should be a new category, "Harry Potter actors", for the actors/actresses who played the HP characters in the filming of the series, e.g. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.160.106.162 (talk) 04:35, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll notify the Potter project which has not formally tracked this category. --P64 (talk) 17:05, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
