Alligator Gar[edit]

Someone needs to add a citation to mention how the alligator gar died while in transit to a new facility. I think it died of a broken heart ;^(. MMetro (talk) 09:23, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2012 reopening[edit]

I don't have time right now to actually write this up properly. There is a bit more to say, I think, than was done today. The groups merged in early 2012, there was a gala in June right after a fishkill that essentially went way over the top in the news, and in addition they got a grant to repair the roof.[1] http://www.detroitmi.gov/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=2lDLrLssMHE%3D&tabid=3227&mid=4616 It opened on 8/18 [2]. That's all for now I could not find a newspaper announcement of the opening, just a press release (unfortunate, but not a showstopper). Don Lammers (talk) 22:22, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
