Loss of information[edit]

Can anyone comment on to why so much of the info on this page has been deleted? A year or so ago it was packed with detail, but now, much of it is very basic info, little more than you'd find on a standard TV listing site. I'm all for tightening things up a bit when articles get over-lengthy, but whole chunks has gone. A real shame. Anyone else agree/disagree? Jay Firestorm (talk) 21:41, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The summary of this article suggests that the show was named after "knights", whereas I understand that it was because the company was founded by a character called Wilton Knight. Thoughts? Maybe the "modern day knight" concept needs a reference. Buzwad (talk) 20:19, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Polish DVD Release[edit]

Quote: "Polish DVD edition of Knight Rider contains original order of episodes(Scent Of Roses as last episode). It's the only edition with this order in the world."

Some clarification on this would be helpful. It appears there is a grammatical error with "...contains original order of episodes...", so should it be "...contains an original order of episodes...", is there any reason for the reordering, and are all episodes included in the release? --66.110.6.119 (talk) 16:48, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the info in question as no citation was provided and that section has been tagged since March. If a source can be located the information can be re-added. Doniago (talk) 17:13, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced material[edit]

Below information was tagged for needing sources long-term. Feel free to reinsert with appropriate references. DonIago (talk) 13:37, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Herbie: Fully Loaded[edit]

Should Knight Rider (1982 TV series)#In popular culture mention that (if i remember correctly) KITT had a cameo/Easter Egg appearance in Herbie: Fully Loaded?

--70.17.201.156 (talk) 00:52, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Has a reliable source mentioned it? DonIago (talk) 14:45, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Official Reviews, Receptions and Critics[edit]

Can any official Reviews, Receptions and Critics be found for the classic series of Knight Rider? Whenever I search on Google and co., all I seem to find is customer reviews to DVD box sets on Amazon.84.170.123.81 (talk) 20:46, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reference links to a nonexistent website[edit]

Why are we continually adding back a reference and article on the website that does not exist? The article has been removed from their site. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3ia9c51f5ef29150aa83bf8dab9a5cb9de

The link was updated to an archive site. http://web.archive.org/web/20100217160142/http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3ia9c51f5ef29150aa83bf8dab9a5cb9de - BilCat (talk) 03:18, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why an archive? Why not find a current article? There are sources out there why not put a fresh one on there? Chris "WarMachineWildThing" (talk) 03:21, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because you don't need to. An old source is fine if it's accurate. You can add a newer source if you want to, but it's no reason to remove the old one. - BilCat (talk) 03:24, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that archive links are valid per WP:ROT. As it says there: "Do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer. Verifiability does not require that all information be supported by a working link, nor does it require the source to be published online." (Emphases in original.) - BilCat (talk) 03:29, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly no one wants to better the article, so I'm done. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" (talk) 03:32, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agan, if you found a better source, feel free to add it. Whether the old one needs to be removed or not is a different issue. - BilCat (talk) 03:42, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As I said before on your talk page due to my Droid locking up with more than one tab open I have to remove then readd. My laptop is down so I have no other way to edit currently. I was willing to do all the work myself because I wanted to make the page better. I tried to add the new one twice and because 2 editors were reverting me it caused an error conflict then a full droid lock up. So I've tried to add it twice and now I can be hit with edit warring if I try it again which is not gonna happen. I tried to improve it and was denied because you both got revert happy, so Im done leave the out of date reference, I have nothing further to say on the subject. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" (talk) 03:52, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There are other options available to you. You could have posted the link you wanted to add here on the talk page first, and someone else could have added it for you. Alternatively, you could have added a {{in use}} tag to the article, assuming the Droid let you. That would have let other editors know you needed time to work. - BilCat (talk) 04:00, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ROT provides guidance on handling dead links. Commenting here since my post on my talk page has seemingly been ignored. -Fnlayson (talk) 18:25, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
