Good job catching that anti-Enterprise POV on Star Trek. --Menchi 07:36, 20 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for catching assorted spelling errors at PrettyGoodPrivacy. However, there is some tension between users of cipher and cypher (and decypher and decipher and ...). One is characteristically British English (though the American style of cipher will probably win out in the end). Since WP doesn't take a stand on the Great Spelling Divide, it's not clear that cypher (etc) is wrong. The is a list of common mispellings in the Wikipedia pages, and some entries have been made there to clarify (or, alternately, confuse). See also some of the discussion at Talk:Cryptography. ww 17:18, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Help Request[edit]

I'm am trying to adjust local place names as used in Wikipedia. Wisconsin is one of the states that presents a sort of problem. As a Wikipedian and a person from Wisconsin, could you help a Wikiholic? Please check out my List of Wisconsin towns. I need to ensure that the opening statement is correct, then look at the related talk page, and tell me if you think I'm going in the right direction. Thanks ... Lou I 17:02, 24 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I notice that this photograph that you uploaded are still lacking a proper license. Would you mind adding a verifiable source and license for its use? Regards, Thuresson 05:44, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Your edit to AOL[edit]

In this edit, you accidentally blanked a large part of the article. If you are using the Google Toolbar, there's a known bug in it which can cause that; in that case, you should uninstall the extension. --cesarb 22:38, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Next time you edit any article be careful you don't blank out whole sections so people's hard work can't be seen. You might want to look into CesarB's suggestion.

Straw poll[edit]

You expressed opinions on the reordering of Cho Seung-hui's name. Please vote in the straw poll on renaming him in Wikipedia here. --Dynaflow 06:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Google Book Search 2007-06-6.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Google Book Search 2007-06-6.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Non-free use disputed for Image:Google_Book_Search_2007-06-6.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Google_Book_Search_2007-06-6.png. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 22:55, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:XB Browser 2.0.0.6a.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:XB Browser 2.0.0.6a.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. wL<speak·check> 10:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:XB Browser 2.0.0.12b.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:XB Browser 2.0.0.12b.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:25, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Droppsburgh Redd[edit]

Hello Feedmecereal

(not sure how to get in touch with you...VERY new to Wikipedia here...)

I think you deleted the entry for the Droppsburgh Redd in error. I updated an external link this morning; sorry about that. I'll keep links internal. Don't see one for the Droppsburgh Redd, but I can write one up with citations in the next couple of weeks.

Just wanted to let you know it's a legit breed, raised in western PA, USA. Please email me with any questions.

Again, sorry for the note on this space...just not sure how to reach you...

Sincerely, Deng Ping. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deng.x.ping (talkcontribs) 19:58, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
