Year in topic[edit]

As per discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Years the year in topic paragraph is scheduled to be deleted as it largely duplicates the links in the top box, and is not consistent with other year. Any objections should be made on that page please --BozMo|talk 19:33, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)

What was the Indian Act in 1935?[edit]

Second table of contents[edit]

  • Is it just me, or is the second table of contents at the bottom of the page a bit excessive? Crad0010 (talk) 01:02, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree sir

Persia -> Iran[edit]

The renaming of Persia to Iran is listed both here and in the article of events of 1934. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.229.140.199 (talk) 17:46, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • July 24th- The world's first children's railway is opened in Tbilisi, USSR.

This is incorrect Kerr's Miniature Railway of Arbroath Scotland was opened on 22nd June 1935. It does not claim to be the first! Would someone please resolve this!

Sporting events?[edit]

I added a couple of dates for when then Detroit Tigers won the World Series and the Detroit Lions won the NFL Championship. However these were deleted. Are sporting events like these not considered acceptable to put on pages like this? Rrbee (talk) 16:08, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Main year articles are only for international events. Those you mention are domestic events, which are for year by country articles such as 1935 in the United States. Jim Michael (talk) 16:40, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Collage[edit]

I would like to create consensus for a collage to be added to this article. My proposal can be seen below.

Clockwise, from top left: The Yangtze River is hit by a major flod, killing above 145,000 people • The Hoover Dam is inaugurated • King George II of Greece returns to Greece after excile in the United Kingdom • The German Nuremberg Laws are passed in a quest for racial purity, stripping Jews of their citizenship • Under the leadership of Bonito Mussolini, Italy invades Ethiopia (picture of 1936 compat) • Having begun in 1932, the Chaco War between Bolivia and Paraguay ends • The Moscow Metro opens • Nazi propaganda from the referendum where 90% of people in the Territory of the Saar Basin votes to join the German Reich.

@Marginataen I don't know why, but I can't reply to you, so I opened a new thread here. 1935 Danish Folketing election and Hachikō may not be that important, maybe they should be replaced. Some candidate events are: 1935 Quetta earthquake, 1935 Shinchiku-Taichū earthquake, 1935 Yangtze flood (unfortunately, this entry does not have independent real-life photos), Neutrality Acts of the 1930s , Social Security Act , 1935 Labor Day hurricane and 1935 Jérémie hurricane. Nagae Iku (talk) 20:13, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Moscow Metro may also need to be replaced. It was only the 19th subway system to open in the world, and I'm not sure what makes it unique. Perhaps it was the first subway system in a socialist country? Nagae Iku (talk) 20:40, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Per you suggestions, I've now replaced the Danish election with one of the Yangtze flood. Marginataen (talk) 13:38, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Marginataen. However, as a native Chinese speaker, I feel it's necessary to point out a mistake you made. The image you uploaded is actually the 1931 Yangtze River flood, as stated in the original article's caption for the picture. The image of the 1935 Yangtze River flood is actually located below the image of the 1931 Yangtze River flood. Also, I just noticed one of your new changes where you replaced Hachiko with the Chaco War. I think the Chaco War might be more appropriate for the 1932 collage, and I would prefer if that section could be replaced with the 1935 Quetta earthquake. Nagae Iku (talk) 20:09, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just do it then. But in the collage here on the talk page. Feel free to replace an image in it like I've doen Marginataen (talk) 14:44, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
