Word to the Badd[edit]

No mentioned of Word to the Badd!! the dis record he made for Michael, basically telling him to shape up. Donmega60645 15:24, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't there be anything in here about that song? Why he wrote it and stuff? Isn't that song the reason why Jermaine never got a record deal again? Aeneiden-Rex 08:54, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is a mention of the incident in the article for his album, You Said, which can be found under Discography.

This song is mentioned in the article but is incorrectly titled "World to Badd"

Since when is "Word To The Badd!" about a former lover?? It's all about MJ. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aeneiden-Rex (talkcontribs) 19:57, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Celebrity Big Brother 2007[edit]

I wonder if Michael Jackson would really watch his brother on Big Brother. Untitled and unidentified1 19:35, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently so. http://www.musicrooms.net/cm/live/templates/?a=3930&z=3AnemoneProjectors (talk) 12:22, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The YouTube clip 1) has been removed due to copyright infringement. Maybe this could be used, instead ??:Daxx wp 03:08, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Daxx_wp[reply]

Wrong information currently on the page[edit]

I have been watching Celebrity Big Brother and Jermaine is not hard to converse with at all, he appears talkative, smiling, and chats to the fellow housemates in a mellow and calm way. Who ever thought it was right to put on page that it is hard to talk to Jermain, is very wrong. It will now be removed.

It has now been changed to an accurate representation of what is actually happening in the Big Brother house.

Name[edit]

Can we confirm that he is officially called Muhammad Abdul Aziz rather than just a.k.a.? I think if he wanted to be called Muhammad, he wouldn't have gone into Big Brother as Jermaine Jackson. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 11:34, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Muhammad is his muslim name. He may use it when he lives in Bahrain and use Jermaine when he is in Christian nations. Though he is muslim, many members of his family are Christians (Jehovahs witness).

The article now suddenly calls him by his Muslim name at the bottom, despite not using it anywhere else in the article!! 90.196.145.239 (talk) 21:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Throughout the article, it just refers to him as Jackson. This should be corrected as it gets confusing when talking about the Jackson 5 and his brothers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.115.254 (talk) 05:19, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Racism[edit]

Given the numerous comments in various fora over phraseology employed in Celebrity Big Brother, shouldn't this article have a subheading "Racism" (as has Jade Goody's) over the use of the term "white trash" by the subject of the article?194.46.172.36 22:46, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what point the last person is making about racism. In all cases should this not be "alleged racism". I have seen letters to the newspapers from people saying it is racism, and comments on blogs (e.g. commentisfree) to this effect. As somebody who watched this live at the time I think that it has been taken out of context. Not only was Jermaine trying to calm the tensions in the house, but he was telling his distraut housemate that they should remember that the programme producers put contraversial personalities in the house to stir things up. He said some people find that entertainment, saying (in relation to the latest antics of Goody's mother Jackiey that "they are what in the USA they call 'white trash'". (He mouthed 'white trash', he did not say the words, and he was clearly not applying the label himself. He was actually making a profound comment about the people who look down on others and use them as a form of entertainment. He has been the most respectful and kind person in the house - towards all the housemates - that I find it shocking anyone can twist what he was saying to say it is a form of racism.89.242.129.75 22:46, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I find it shocking that you watched the show live on the internet. ;)

I think its quite important to mention the 'white trash' comment as according to some newspapers this is being investigated by the poice. the link was on this page but has since been removed, i assume by fans of jackson. if the pages relating to goody, o'meara and lloyd carry info on the "racism" then jermaine jackson's page should too. wikipedia is meant to be an unbiased collection of info remember!!
I changed the sentence on white trash from the Daily Star's false versions of events (this is a very low brow tabloid, not a reputable source) and replace it with what actually happened, backed up with a reference.Fay06 00:41, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jermaine Jackson was the one that caused and stirred the racism row in the 1st place. He did anythin BUT stand in teh backgound. He is the racist one, not Jade Goody. "Of course my wife is black"...Yeah...Not racist at all.

You're personal interpretation of Jermaine Jackson's comments is irrelevant, just because you thought his comment was in bad taste does not mean it actually was meant to be interpreted that way. Unless you can cite references proving Jackson meant to say it in a racist manner for all we know he could have just said it knowing those around him expected him to marry a black woman. Please read WK:NPOV before making further edits, otherwise I fear you might make the same mistake. 72.152.135.75 (talk) 22:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Celebrity Big Brother section states: 'he steered clear of the controversy caused by the series'. That statement is not true, as his use of the term 'white trash' received a considerable amount of media coverage in the UK. I don't know what the US media and the American public thought of his behavior in the BB House, but the relevant section of this article is very biased in his favor. That he didn't directly use the slur against / to anyone, saying that many people would use the term, is likely to have been his way of using the term, whilst claiming he wouldn't use it. If 'black trash' is racist, then so is 'white trash'. Whilst the article should not state that he is racist, it should state that he was accused of being racist by some of the UK media and British public. In addition, his attitude in the house was that of him feeling superior to (at least some of) the other housemates. Nietzsche 2 (talk) 15:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Halima Rashid[edit]

Hes married a women called Halima Rashid from Afganistan? were are the sources to back this up? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.154.84.44 (talk) 00:03, 18 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

How could he get married in 2004, when he was still married to his second wife until their divorce in 2008? The article is written such that he didn't know his marriage was null and void until 2008. Did he commit polygamy? Thediva (talk) 07:55, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marriages and Relationships: question[edit]

Under Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, the second paragraph starts with:
Joseph Jackson gave Jermaine son Donte; whom he adopted with Alejandra.
I see the factcheck tag. My problem is with the wording of the sentence. As far as I can tell, it is stating that Jermaine's father gave a son to Jermaine and Alejandra, whom they adopted. I simply cannot make sense of it. Did Joseph literally give a baby to the couple? Did he father a child on Alejandra that Jermaine later adopted? I am truly scratching my head over this one. 71.234.215.133 (talk) 13:27, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

His marriages/ relationships according to the article as written: Hazel Gordy (married: 12/15/73-?/?/1988), no children Margaret Maldonado (not married, involved at least 1986-1989), 2 children (Jeremy Maldonado and Jourdynn Michael) Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza (another source gave me her first and middle names) (marriage annulled, dates unknown) 2 children (Jaafar and Jermajesty) Halima Rashid (current marriage, date unknown) 2 (planned?) children (Mecca and Madina) Later in the article another child is revealed: Jermaine Jr. Can someone who knows more on this topic try and fill in all of this missing information? At least this entire section could be written far more coherently.98.235.34.95 (talk) 23:05, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comments relating to Michael Jackson and Islam[edit]

It should by now be accepted that Michael Jackson has converted to Islam. It is on multiple national and global news sources. Despite misgivings, we need to reflect the common news.

Jermaine's exploitation of Michael's death[edit]

Hey All, am new but would like this entry to be discussed and eventually uploaded.

Jermaine of late who has been in the spotlight thanks to the many interviews and appearances has claimed to be "the backbone" and the trying to keep Michael's Legacy alive and denial of any exploits. 1) Despite public statements made by Michael Jackson himself with regard to Neverland, A teary Jermaine went on Larry King to on several occasions to say that he wants or Michael would have wanted to be buried at Neverland. This is contrary to Michal's statements and here is but one of the links Shorter version from Youtube But the truth of the matter is that Michael never wanted to return there what more buried there.Neverland a house to visit no longer home My point is that Jermaine is trying to exploit Michael's death monetarily and have him buried at Neverland just like Graceland as an attraction/amusement place.

2) Why were his so-called tributes to Michael not mentioned? a)Canceled Vienna "Tribute" 1st ref 2nd ref 3rd ref- the blatant lies about the artists going to perform. The fact that the it was for supposed to be for charitable cause and Michael's Legacy when actually the Charity is actually a Company under the UK Registrar of companies with Jermaine and wife being Directors.

The "we" is Earthcare International, a body which Jackson heads. Here's a word of warning to the bored Googler. There is an Earth Care International, which is an environmental charity. It isn't usual for environmental charities to host large scale international parties in Dubai, and indeed this Earth Care International have persistently disassociated themselves from Jermaine. His Earthcare International is not registered with the charity commission here, has no UK employees, is unknown to Oxfam and Action Aid and, when contacted, is unable to provide details of any ongoing project. What's more, Jermaine's plan for a global jamboree is not a new one - in fact it's at least ten years old. Back in 1997 he told Larry King of a "benefit extravaganza" called Earthvision '98 in which figures such as Muhammed Ali and Desmond Tutu would be honoured for humanitarian achievements. Reference for Earth Care Charity

b)Planned London Concert.

c)But before even fruition, there is news of a Mumbai concert. Having the Mumbai concert coincides with his new recording and because "he(Jermaine) likes it there". Mumbai Concert

3)Sale of Smile at Memorial to Itunes. Sale of Smile"

4)And Word to the Badd should be restored in the main page rather than linked via discography. JCccZzz (talk) 01:17, 1 November 2009 (UTC) --JCccZzz (talk) 01:31, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marriages and Relationships[edit]

His personal life article is no longer written the way I remember it being, very thorough and organized. Someone may have edited it recently since I've been to his Wiki page last. Which is a shame, because it was well written. Now I can't understand half of the things here. For example "After his divorce with Hazel, he convinced and stayed with Margaret." What does that even mean?

--p4 (talk) 14:13, 26 November 2009 (UTC)p4poetic--p4 (talk) 14:13, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The family section is badly written. When I find the sources I'll update it but I remember that first he had two kids with Hazel Gordy (Jermaine Jr. and a daughter, Autumn) then he was already in a relationship with Margaret Maldonado (had a son named Jeremy), had a son AGAIN with Hazel (named Jaimy), then divorced Hazel and had a second son with Margaret (Jourdyn). This is detailed in Margaret's book if I remember correctly.

After this he had an affair and later married Alejandra Oaziaza, who was previously married to his younger brother Randy. Alejandra already had two kids by Randy (Genevieve and Randy Jr.) and had two by Jermaine (Jafar and Jermajesty).

Some sources mention a daughter called Dawn but I don't know who her mother is. Also, Katherine and Joe adopted a boy called Donte who was later raised by Alejandra and Jermaine so basically we can say he is Jermaine's adopted son.

So neither of the Jackson boys could surpass the number of kids their father had (11) but Jermaine is the one that gets the closest to it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.101.200.20 (talk) 09:39, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I found a Jackson Family Tree that has his divorce from Alejandra in 2008. Since the 2003 precise date on this page is unsourced, I wonder which is correct. It's pretty easy to misread 3 and 8 for each other. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 15:00, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Change in name[edit]

He has legally changed his last name according to NBC news to "Jacksun". I suggest that this article be retitled to match. 331dot (talk) 21:06, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is as per WP:COMMONNAME hes not know as jacksun.Moxy (talk) 21:13, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still new here; I appreciate you pointing that out to me. 331dot (talk) 21:19, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem - you will find that this place has so may rules .... ever need help come to my talk page - WP:Help index is a great place to find information on all kinds of topics .Moxy (talk) 21:25, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm moving the page to Jermaine Jacksun the name recognition problem is easily solved with a redirect. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 03:23, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The copy and paste move has been reverted as per the previous policy stated above.Moxy (talk) 05:20, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And I've reversed your reversal based on WP:IAR and the precendent set with Chad Ochocinco. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 05:48, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your not moving the page in the proper manner at all - pls ask for help with this in the future. That said you have been here long enough to know how this works - pls talk it out now. No edit wars pls - stable version till others weight in. Our policy on common name is there for a reason. Moxy (talk) 05:56, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And we have changed this for several people such as Chad Ochocinco, there is also a reason we have WP:IAR and a redirect still solves this. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 06:09, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RfC about new legal name[edit]

Should the article be moved to Jermaine Jacksun his new legal name or remain at Jermaine Jackson?

Threaded discussion[edit]

  • Keep at Jermaine Jackson - as the person who made this request and the simply fact we have decades of album credits and charts that use his birth name.Moxy (talk) 06:24, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Jermaine Jacksun- Yes we have decades of albums attributed to that name however a simple redirect still presents the relevant name and there is a precedent to the moves such as Chad Johnson formerly Chad Ochocinco. A redirect still directs it to the correct article and no info is lost however the name IS changed so this can also be a BLP issue if viewed in that light as well. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 06:40, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep at Jermaine Jackson for now - celebs do weird stuff all the time to get attention, and there's every chance this is him pulling an only semi-longterm "Artist Formerly Known as Prince"-style change, or making a serious decision for more genuine, personal reasons, but one that he'll reverse himself on next week, next month or next year. After he releases some albums (or makes some movies or has otherwise done something that updates him as a notable public figure) under the new name, then consider a rename. — SMcCandlish  Talk⇒ ɖכþ Contrib. 11:12, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep at Jermaine Jackson I see no reason to suppose that "Jacksun" is the spelling by which he is best known at present, so we ought to keep the common name as the primary title. Anyone who happens to search for him by the new name will still find the article through a redirect. I agree with SCandlish that this could change, especially if he releases new material as "Jacksun", but until it does I can see no good reason to ignore WP:COMMONNAME. I certainly don't see how this can be a BLP issue, since it seems hard to argue that the claim he previously released material under the name of "Jackson" is either controversial, or unsourced. Anaxial (talk) 07:04, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep at Jermaine Jackson, until and unless he becomes better known as Jermaine Jacksun. It isn't like this decision needs to be permanent. Per Trebuchet MS and Anaxial, and also WP:COMMONNAME. --I dream of horses (T) @ 21:57, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as Jermaine Jackson for quite clear reasons of notability. The time to change the name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali is the approximate time when the new name is popularly established. Not before. -The Gnome (talk) 10:20, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as Jermaine Jackson He was and is notable as Jackson and a whimsical name change doesn't change that. There needs to be much, much more to merit the page's name being changed. Dreambeaver(talk) 19:13, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
