We've almost closed the hole. I have a suspicion that Shaftesbury may have been Lord Steward for the 1924-1937 period as well, but no evidence to back that up. Any help appreciated. john k 23:51, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

He was Lord Steward until '36, with the 5th Duke of Sutherland filling up the rest of the gap. Proteus (Talk) 22:05, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Henry Fitzalan, 18th Earl of Arundel 1553-1568[edit]

Shouldn't it be the 19th ? --Phoe 20:46, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Correction[edit]

The phrase 'an Act of passed in 1539 for placing of the lords' should have either 'of' or 'passed' removed - is there a particular convention? Jackiespeel (talk) 09:30, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Coroner[edit]

"In the Lord Steward's department were the officials of the Board of Green Cloth, the Coroner ("coroner of the verge", although now abolished, but it has yet to take place)"

What has yet to take place?

What is 'now' abolished and when was it abolished? We can't know when 'now' refers to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.47.93.63 (talk) 11:05, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
