cleanup tag[edit]

The reason I added the tag was because of the numbered lists. These are to be bulletted.
Now that I look closer I see a lot of bold that also needs to be removed.
The people sub-headings are unnecessary.
There appears to be a lot of extra text.
There's a link in a heading. That's a no-no.

I have replaced the numbers with bullets and fixed the link in the heading - must have missed earlier. The bolding is not great but doesn't worry me, similarly the extra text. No strong objections if it is removed though--A Y Arktos 23:08, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest that big block of text about the gangs be moved to Mara (gangs) or some similar name. It doesn't belong on this page, but seems to be valuble information, if it's verifiable. Tedernst | talk 16:44, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Woman[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that Mara is sometimes a girl's name, and that mara is the word for 'woman' in the Lebanese and Maltese languages?

Maybe not relevant, but a clarification[edit]

Here in Latin America (at least in Central america), "mara" refers to all criminal street gangs, at least the ones in the style of MS-13. I don't know if the word ultimately carries connotations beyond just "gang" (Maras_(gangs) exists but is a stub), but one should look up if the distinction is important enough to have a link to that rather than just one of the "maras". 201.190.31.4 (talk) 03:22, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
