Globalize tag[edit]

I stuck a globalize tag on this article. One incredibly detailed example (probably more worthy of being placed on 'student groups'-style pages for the specific colleges?) don't satisfy an encyclopedia article about what an academic assembly is. Examples are great, but they need to either be consistent with everyone (University of Bath, Seattle University, etc are also mentioned as having academic assemblies, but are only mentioned in the intro sentence), or the examples need to further the goal of providing a general explanation. This article appears more as a MSU article slapped with a general intro sentence. Needs work. -- Smith120bh/TALK 19:50, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, but the general hope, I believe, would be that users from without would assist users from within. I don't know that the creator had the frame of reference. It is generally accepted Wiki practice that certain subtexts are maintained by a small but dedicated core. While I agree that it should be expanded, I fail to see anyone do it. ~~ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.11.152.93 (talkcontribs) .

I agree with you, but then that's the idea of the tag - to try and attract more people to expand it and modify it into a more global view. I don't have the knowledge to be able to expand it, either. I go to Dartmouth College, and I watch, maintain, and build up various Dartmouth-related articles, so that's my subtext that I deal with. On a side note, I did remove the 'current officers' section of MSU. The article should not be a directory for the organization - if that information is desired, readers can follow a link to the organization's website. -- Smith120bh/TALK 04:24, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A. Assembly at Penn State[edit]

Please note that the Undergraduate Student Government of The Pennsylvania State University, and by extension the University's Academic Assembly, is no more. Please see this Daily Collegian article for verification. Thanks, GChriss <always listening><c> 00:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC) (former member of USG)[reply]
