Consensus decision making[edit]

The ancient Jewish Sanhedrin courts rejected all unanimous verdicts and let the accused go free, on the assumption that the accused had not had any adequate defense.

However, the consensus process of U-2 has maximized their chance to get to know each other and to cooperate, so a truly effective presentation and marshalling of support may be possible later on. Venture capitalists tend to value these traits, and so most will consider hearing a business plan only if it is presented by a pair of business partners already committed to working with each other.

GFDL[edit]

Draft Debian Position Statement about the GNU Free Documentation License(GFDL) lays out the issues well but offers no real solutions.

This page does contain at least a reccomendation:

If you must use the GFDL for some reason (eg for compatibility), we would very much encourage you to put your material under a dual license, like GFDL/GPL.

"So in other words, as things now stand the situation is a huge mess?

Yes, personally that is how I would describe the current state of copyright and licensing issues on Wikipedia. We really haven't thought the whole thing through, IMHO. -- SJK"

My current annoyance with the MediaWiki software:

  1. blah
    1. son of blah
      1. grandson of blah
  2. foo
    1. son of foo
    2. daughter of foo
      1. granddaughter of foo

It should be more like:

1 blah
  1.1 son of blah
    1.1.1 grandson of blah
2 foo
  2.1 son of foo
  2.2 daugher of foo
    2.2.1 granddaugher of foo

Actually turns out to be an HTML annoyance. There is a Javascript/CSS fix in Russian at:
