--Venerable Bede 01:56, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)Hey there! My birth name is Matthew but I go by my tag Venerable Bede here on wikipedia. I have a great love for all types of history, and am currently studying for a Bachelors (and eventually Masters, God Willing) so that I might become a Teacher or Professor. A die-hard Catholic, my historical and literary interests comprise everything from classical, biblical, pre-biblical, pre-historic and medieval history and literature. I'm especially interested in ancient near-eastern, roman, greek and medieval catholic studies. I'm a big fan of the works of St. Benedict and the Doctors of the Church.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, video games (Specifically of the strategy, RPG, or FPS types), some Soccer (Arsenal, Celtic, the upcoming St. Louis United FC in the MLS), as well as fencing, art, camping and outdoors activites (I love nature), and quality time with the family.

My contributions:

Puabi As part of my love of all things Sumerian, I recently reformatted this article and added a host of new info, as well as a pic of the famed headdress of Pu-Abi

Toshiro Mifune

My all time fav actor. Added a significant amount of info, I pretty much doubled the size of the existing article.

Nanban Period

My interest in japanese history naturally follows my appreciation of the works of Akira Kurosawa, Takashi Shimura, and Toshiro Mifune. I've added a bit of info into this, and heavily edited it for NPOV. The article itself is excellent, and the people who have devoted time to creating/editing the Japanese History articles must be congratulated.

Epictetus

In honor of my ongoing love affair with Stoic Philosophy, I have edited and added significant amounts of new info on Epictetus

Peter the Venerable

My Second foray in to Article Authorship

Hei matau

I originally authored this article but then it was heavily edited nearly two days later :)

Maori

A minor edit, I simply added a bit of information about Maori art Collectives.

Hashashin

The dreaded assassins themselves. I've studied the Nizari Ismailies (and Isma'ilism in general) for a very long time, so I'm going to restructure practically every Isma'ili article on wikipedia, starting with this one. Stay tuned, it's going to be a long effort; I have a lot of info to add.

I've copy-edited and made barely mentionable changes to probably about 3 dozen articles by now, but all so minor I won't bother to list them here.

My political Standing:[edit]

Economic Left/Right: -5.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.15

Political Compass The results are set up on a standard x,y axis graph. I wound up smack in the middle of the liberal left side, side by side with Mohandas Ghandi and right next door to Nelson Mandela.
